About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and inclusive leader to join our team as Deputy Headteacher with curriculum responsibility at Selwyn Hall School.

As part of the Polaris community, we provide high-quality, inclusive education for children with a wide range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism, ADHD, FASD, and complex communication needs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement a high-quality curriculum that supports the learning needs of SEND students.
  2. Assess, monitor, record, and report on the learning needs, progress, and achievements of pupils.
  3. Participate in arrangements for preparing pupils for external examinations.
  4. Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of the school's policies, practices, and procedures in support of the school's values and vision.
  5. Work with others to secure coordinated outcomes for curriculum and pupil development.
  6. Collaborate with other leaders within the Polaris community to share best practices and ensure alignment with our ethos.
Requirements
  1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in SEND.
  2. Experience of delivering a high-quality curriculum with a focus on supporting young people with SEND.
  3. A proactive, adaptable attitude, able to set up new systems and processes aligned with the school's values and ethos.
