Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Assistant Principal - SENCO to join our team at Leigh Academies Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the SEN policy, SEN information report, and provision made by the school for pupils with learning difficulties or disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a high-quality intervention programme to support students with SEND.
  • Work closely with staff, parents, and other agencies to ensure students with SEND receive the support they need to achieve their full potential.
  • Establish and develop excellent relationships with the community and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive school culture that values diversity and promotes equality.
  • Collaborate with the Principal, Academy Leadership Team, and SEN department to ensure the effective implementation of the SEN policy.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the SEN provision and make recommendations for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working in a secondary school setting, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with staff, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice and the ability to apply this in practice.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive school culture.
