Role Overview
Reporting to the Technical Test Manager, the Quality Assurance Test Engineer will collaborate closely with Development, Design, and Project teams. The primary responsibility includes preparing testing documentation in accordance with the established testing strategy and requirements, ensuring that systems are thoroughly evaluated as per the agreed timelines with stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing test documentation such as test plans, scripts, and defect reports.
- Conducting functional, non-functional, and regression testing.
- Planning and documenting test activities and outcomes.
- Participating in the design and technical review of testing documentation to ensure comprehensive coverage.
- Analyzing requirements and specifications for testability.
- Setting up and configuring testing environments.
- Coordinating multi-location testing activities to meet project schedules.
- Managing testing documentation necessary for evaluation.
- Analyzing and reporting test results to support informed decision-making.
- Assisting in the development of test cases for system deployment.
- Executing on-site testing for significant upgrades to sorting systems.
- Engaging effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers and project management teams.
Candidate Profile
To excel in this position, candidates should demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall testing methodologies.
- Experience in software testing, including automation tools like Selenium and Pytest.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C#, or Java.
- Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Knowledge of automated sorting processes and equipment.
- Understanding of supplier testing methodologies.
- Experience with automation data interface specifications.
- Ability to implement test strategies through practical test cases.
- Proficiency in test validation and defect management tools.
