About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Java Developer to join a busy public sector business on a 6 month initial contract.

The role is focused on defining and developing the work activities that facilitate the continuous improvement and development of the APIM capability. The APIM service is a fully managed open-source solution that allows API developers to design, publish and manage the lifecycle of APIs, and consumers to easily find and use APIs.

You will be involved in low-level design, design and code reviews, development of code and delivering/maintaining DevOps best practice and tooling.

The ideal candidate will have skills and experience in the following:

  • Java
  • Python
  • AWS
  • Working knowledge of implementing or supporting REST APIs using an API Management solution (e.g. WSO2, Apigee) and OpenAPI (Swagger) Definitions.
  • Experience of working in a live service using DevOps & Agile processes
  • Producing designs
  • Current SC Security Clearance

This role will be mainly remote based with possibly 1 day per month in the office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop high-quality Java code
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to DevOps best practices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects
  • Develop and maintain API documentation
  • Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements

Requirements:

  • Strong Java programming skills
  • Experience with API Management solutions and OpenAPI
  • Knowledge of DevOps and Agile methodologies
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Current SC Security Clearance
