Role Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Backend Software Engineer to join our team at Client Server. As a key member of our technology team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing the underlying application layer to expose and encapsulate fundamental Generative AI capabilities.
About the Role
This is a hands-on leadership role that requires a strong background in Java and SpringBoot, as well as experience with AI technology. You will work closely with our Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers to introduce cutting-edge AI technology and design scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement the underlying application layer to expose and encapsulate fundamental Generative AI capabilities
- Collaborate with Data Scientists and Machine Learning Engineers to introduce cutting-edge AI technology
- Work with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable solutions
- Act as an AI champion within the wider technology team, keeping up with the latest advancements and seeking continual improvement
- Mentor and guide other engineers as a valued member of our tech community
Requirements
- Commercial experience of working with AI, with a demonstrable interest in Generative AI concepts
- Strong backend web development experience with Java and SpringBoot
- Technical project leadership and mentoring experience
- Experience with RESTful APIs, messaging, event sourcing; Kafka would be a plus
- Test-driven approach, TDD, Agile methodologies and processes
- Strong analysis, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
