Department of Anaesthesia
Main Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be an integral part of the anaesthetic on-call rota, responsible for delivering both elective and emergency anaesthesia across various surgical disciplines. Additionally, the role includes providing critical airway management and participating in the initial stabilization and transfer of patients in critical condition. The on-call schedule will encompass a blend of standard days, extended shifts, and night duties, with expectations aligned to the candidate's experience and qualifications.
Surgical Specialties Involved
- General Surgery (including pediatric, breast, and colorectal procedures)
- Gynaecology
- Urology
- Trauma Surgery
- Oral Surgery
- Pediatric Dental Surgery
- Cataract and Minor Eye Procedures
- Plastic Surgery (including pediatric cases)
- Obstetrics or other specialty interests (by arrangement)
There is a dedicated trauma surgery list available each weekday afternoon, and a flexible Day Surgery policy is in place.
