Job Description

At The New Foscote Hospital, we are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Anaesthetist to provide anaesthetic cover for planned surgery across our hospital sites. This is an exciting opportunity to join a reputable organisation and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

The appointee will be based at Royal Buckinghamshire Hospital in Aylesbury and The New Foscote Hospital in Banbury, where they will work closely with our team of experienced anaesthetists to ensure the smooth running of surgical lists. The position is for 10 sessions with no on-call commitments, and applications for a part-time role, minimum 5 sessions, will also be considered.

The successful candidate will have wide anaesthetic experience and be on the Specialist Register with the GMC. They will also be eligible to register with private medical insurance companies and have an interest in pain management. We are looking for an ambitious clinician who is able to learn from their peers, develop their skills, and positively contribute to the success of the hospital Group.

We offer a competitive salary of £110,000.00 per year, plus commission pay and performance bonus. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality anaesthetic care for all patients
  • Support the smooth running of surgical lists
  • Take ownership in the successful performance against key performance indicators
  • Maintain and develop quality standards and improvement throughout the theatre department
  • Provide clinical anaesthetic advice as and when needed

Requirements:

  • Full GMC Registration with entry on the GMC Specialist Register
  • Wide anaesthetic experience and be on the Specialist Register with the GMC
  • Eligible to register with private medical insurance companies
  • Interest in pain management
  • Ability to learn and champion internal and external IT systems
  • Agile, dynamic, and dependable individual able to work flexibly and respond to urgent matters
