Radiologist Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Radiologist to join a dynamic team delivering multidisciplinary acute care in Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals. The successful applicant will be required to maintain the expanding workload of the department, supporting the extensive department input into MDT meetings, meeting waiting list targets, and enabling the introduction of extended working.
Main ResponsibilitiesThe appointed individual will be expected to have a sub-specialty interest in gastrointestinal radiology and contribute to the general workload of the department. There is flexibility in the number of general sessions expected. A more detailed job plan will be discussed prior to appointment, depending on the candidate's sub-specialist interests.
Job Requirements- Full GMC registration and on Specialist Register or within six months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent at time of interview
- MB ChB or equivalent medical qualification
- FRCR or equivalent medical qualification
- Extensive clinical training and experience in Breast Imaging Radiology
- Breast MDT experience
- Emergency imaging and on call experience
- Familiarity with PACs and other IT systems relevant with Radiology
- Evidence of appropriate teaching experience within the last 3 years
- Able to supervise junior medical staff
- Demonstrates ability to undertake robust audit / research within team structure within the last 3 years
- Understanding of methods of appraisal and assessment of radiology trainees.
- Demonstrates clarity in written/spoken communication & capacity to adapt language as appropriate to the situation.
- Able to build rapport, listen, persuade & negotiate.
- Capacity to use logical/lateral thinking to solve problems/make decisions.
- Capacity to work effectively with others.
- Able to work in multi-professional teams.
- Capacity to take in others' perspectives and treat others with understanding.
- Capacity to manage/prioritise time and information effectively.
- Capacity to monitor developing situations and anticipate issues.
- Capacity to operate under pressure. Demonstrates initiative & resilience to cope with changing circumstances.
