Scutum Group, a leading provider of fire and security solutions, is seeking high-quality Fire & Security Engineer apprentices to join their team in January 2025.

About the Role

This 36-month apprenticeship program will provide successful candidates with the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge in fire and security systems, including electrical and electronic principles, system technologies, and health and safety practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Security maintenance and fire alarm maintenance, including CCTV, intruder, and access control systems
  • Electrical and electronic principles, including codes of practice, commissioning, design criteria, and installation, testing, and maintenance techniques
  • Testing and maintaining different systems, including fire, emergency, and security systems
  • System technologies, including storing, retrieving, manipulating, transmitting, and receiving electronic data across various ICT applications
  • Using ICT tools and equipment, including email, mobile devices, personal computers, and web applications
  • Communications, including communication styles and communicating in a clear, articulate, and appropriate manner
  • Specialist fire, security, fire and emergency lighting, or fire and security technician skills
  • Health and safety practices, regulations, and legislation within fire, emergency, and security environments, including environmental compliance
Requirements
  • Full UK driving license and use of own insured car (company vehicle will be provided during year 2)
  • Pass at GCSE maths and English (C/L4 equivalent or above)
  • Good computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Good spoken and written English
  • Evidence of technical skills
  • Experience with electrics and/or power tools would be a bonus
  • Polite and well-mannered
  • A confident communicator
  • Organised and punctual
Training and Development

Successful candidates will complete a Level 3 apprenticeship with Skills for Security and receive on-the-job training and experience working with a qualified installation/service engineer.
