Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced SHE Advisor to join our team, supporting the delivery of our Health, Safety, and Environmental strategy. As a key member of our team, you will provide specialist coaching, advice, and training to drive legislative compliance and promote continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support projects in the delivery of our Health, Safety, and Environmental strategy, ensuring managers assume full responsibility for their activities.
  • Provide Health, Safety, and Environmental input into the tender and contract award process.
  • Act as a single point of contact for advice and expertise on Health & Safety matters, ensuring the effectiveness of Construction Phase Plans.
  • Provide environmental and sustainability guidance to meet our targets, metrics, and net zero drivers.
  • Support and undertake accident/incident investigations to establish root causes and communicate learning points.
  • Challenge existing working methods to incorporate Health, Safety, and Environmental good practice during design and construction phases.
  • Contribute to a safe and secure culture through behavior-based coaching at all levels.
  • Liaise with the wider construction industry to share lessons and implement best practices.
  • Coordinate, develop, and maintain positive relationships with local stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and industry partners.
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of CDM regulation requirements for gas projects, covering various roles such as Client, Principal Designer, and Principal Contractor.
  • Provide support and guidance to ensure project representatives are aware of their SHE roles and responsibilities.
  • Undertake reviews of Fastflow/contractor documentation, participate in site safety meetings, H&S Audits, and Sensible Monitoring Inspections on gas projects.
  • Provide independent H&S audit capability to the delivery teams for a portfolio of projects.
  • Ensure suitable controls and processes are in place for the development and ongoing management of the CDM Risk Register.
  • Assist the project team representatives with the review of contractor's competence and identification of training needs.
  • Provide monthly H&S data and safety stats to line management as needed.

About You

We are looking for an experienced SHE Advisor with a strong background in auditing and root cause analysis techniques. You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and recommend preventative action. A good understanding of CDM Regulations and experience in the construction industry are essential.

Qualifications

  • NEBOSH Certificate and considerable relevant construction SHE & Gas industry experience.
  • Knowledge and experience of Environmental management requirements.
  • Current full UK driving license.
  • EUSR Cross Country Pipelines / SHEA Gas.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Diploma (or equivalent) in Health & Safety and/or considerable relevant SHE & Gas industry experience.
  • Membership of a safety or environmental professional body or engineering institute to incorporated or chartered level.
  • Formal auditor training ISO 9001 /14001/18001 trained.
