Laboratory Technician

Job Summary:
Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our team. As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining the laboratory to a high level of safety, efficiency, cleanliness, and housekeeping.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the laboratory is adequately stocked with regularly used consumables to support the lab teams.
- Maintain the AST team bacterial/fungal culture collection to optimal standards.
- Conduct routine experiments to support the AST technical team with product development and/or validation, producing reports to support design control processes for new product design.
- Assist the laboratory team in maintaining equipment such as HPLCs.
- Ensure the laboratory is constantly improving its processes using PPI and JDIs.
- Assist with regular audits of the laboratory space to ensure standards are met.
Requirements:
- Preferred recent qualification through a bachelor's degree in Chemistry or equivalent related degree.
- Willingness to work alongside education if pursuing a scientific-related degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A desire to learn and develop laboratory skills and experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Enjoy problem-solving, troubleshooting, and suggesting improvements to processes.
- Driven and capable of working independently as part of a cross-functional laboratory team.
- Attention to detail, ensuring tasks are completed correctly the first time.
