Laboratory Technician

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining a high level of safety, efficiency, cleanliness, and housekeeping in the laboratory. You will also ensure that the laboratory is adequately stocked with regularly used consumables and maintain the AST team bacterial/fungal culture collection.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain the laboratory to a high level of safety, efficiency, cleanliness, and housekeeping.
- Ensure the laboratory is adequately stocked with regularly used consumables.
- Maintain the AST team bacterial/fungal culture collection.
- Conduct routine experiments to support the AST technical team with product development and/or validation.
- Assist the laboratory team to maintain equipment such as HPLCs.
- Ensure that the laboratory is constantly improving its processes using PPI and JDIs.
- Assist with regular audits of the laboratory space to ensure standards are met.
- Preferred recent qualification through bachelors degree in Chemistry or equivalent related degree.
- Willing to work alongside your education if you are working towards a scientific related degree.
- A desire to learn and develop your laboratory skills and experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Enjoys problem solving, troubleshooting and passionate about suggesting improvements to processes.
- Driven and capable of working independently as part of a cross functional laboratory team.
- Attention to detail, ensuring things are done right first time.
