We are seeking an experienced Electrical and Mechanical Technician to join our team at West Midlands Metro. As an Electrical and Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our tramway network by performing electrical and mechanical maintenance and repair work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance and repair work on our tramway network
- Ensure all tasks are performed with the utmost safety and effectiveness
- Carry out maintenance and repairs to West Midland Metro Electrical and Mechanical Infrastructure and equipment
- Oversight of contractors carrying out planned works on Electrical and Mechanical equipment
- Assist with the testing and commissioning of new systems
- Switching of electrical substations
- Assist with the development and continued improvement of the Asset Management Information System
- On call duties
Requirements:
- A good working knowledge and competence in electrical systems
- The ability to read and understand electrical schematics
- GCSE Maths, English and Science at Grade C/4 or above
- Recognised Electrical qualification at Level 3 or above
- Excellent interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively at all levels within and outside of the company
- A full driving license
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience working in an industrial electrical maintenance environment
- Qualified to 18th Edition (Wiring regulations)
- High Voltage Authorised Person training
- IOSH
