Clinical Research Imaging Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Research Imaging Specialist to join our team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Clinical Research Unit, you will be responsible for the provision of clinical imaging services for clinical trials, ensuring seamless delivery of high-quality imaging data to our research partners.
Main Responsibilities- Coordinate imaging procedures for clinical trial patients, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of imaging data.
- Manage relationships with clinical trial sponsors, imaging reading centres, and ophthalmic imaging department staff.
- Develop and maintain imaging protocols for new studies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Train and certify imaging staff in new protocols, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality imaging data.
- Maintain accurate records of imaging certifications, training dates, and equipment inventory.
- Support trial feasibility and equipment information, ensuring that all necessary equipment is available and in good working order.
- Collaborate with clinical trial sponsors, research unit staff, and reading centres to ensure smooth delivery of imaging services.
- Transmit image data to reading centres within required timeframes, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of data.
- Maintain robust records of clinical patient visits, ensuring compliance with individual research protocol and Trust guidelines.
- Extensive experience in ophthalmic imaging, with a strong understanding of imaging protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clinical trial sponsors, imaging reading centres, and ophthalmic imaging department staff.
- Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Education to degree level, preferably in bio-medical science, with extensive experience as an ophthalmic photographer for clinical research.
