Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Research and Development Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing development projects from concept to delivery, overseeing projects through the C2L/Clarizen system, and providing technical expertise and mentoring to the NPD, purchasing, operational, and commercial teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage development projects from concept to delivery, ensuring timely and within-budget completion.
- Oversee projects through the C2L/Clarizen system, maintaining accurate and detailed project records.
- Provide technical expertise and mentoring to the NPD, purchasing, operational, and commercial teams.
- Develop and review the C2L/Clarizen process to ensure it meets the needs of the business and customers.
- Liaise with project leaders to agree timings for development elements within project plans and ensure timely delivery.
- Monitor final product costs throughout the C2L/Clarizen process and advise project teams on any deviations.
- Evolve the R&D process to enable research of ingredients and processes that provide innovative and competitive advantages for the business.
- Participate in the composition of factory operating procedures and QA measurements/standards for individual projects.
- Ensure all new products are discussed with the technical team in relation to HACCP.
- Participate in and lead cross-functional project teams as required.
- Develop a method to identify and recommend value engineering projects on existing products within product categories.
- Lead by example, demonstrating strong leadership skills, ability to motivate and inspire coworkers, and good interpersonal and communication skills.
