Job Title: Electronics Engineer with Analogue and Digital Design

Location: East Sussex

Salary: £60,000 max dependent on experience

Level: min 2-3 years experience

Job Summary

We are seeking an Electronics Engineer with expertise in analogue and digital design to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for maintaining existing builds, designing and redesigning new instrumentation, and working collaboratively with our manufacturing department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop new electronic instruments and equipment.
  • Maintain existing and upgrade existing designs to meet legislative requirements, overcome obsolescence, and improve performance.
  • Propose and prepare electronic specifications to meet functional requirements and negotiate and agree achievable requirements.
  • Prototype, test, and document results, as well as present the test data to others.
  • Trouble-shoot development and production issues, contributing to test and inspection plans as necessary.
  • Liaise with suppliers, sub-contractors, and internal and external personnel as required.
  • Maintain electronic and software information to meet the quality system requirements.
  • Advise on the content and provide outline and key details required for others to prepare technical support documentation.
  • Look for continuous improvement within electronic and software design, and ideas for improving the quality and efficiency of the Company's operations, products, and services.
  • Train other employees in technical and operation matters and above responsibilities, as and when required.
  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Company from time to time.
Requirements
  • A good understanding of instrumentation and monitoring systems and be familiar with signal processing and instrumentation.
  • HND or degree level in electronics or equivalent.
  • A proven track record of electronics (hardware) product development and design experience.
  • Circuit board design software package knowledge; Altium, Cadence, or similar.
  • EMC, RoHS, LVD, CE/UKCA design compliance.
  • Internet of Things (IoT) design and implementation experience would be advantageous.
  • Capable of applying knowledge to troubleshoot and propose solutions for electronics-related issues.
  • Firmware design would be advantageous.
  • Able to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good computer literacy skills.
