About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Portfolio Manager to join our Change Team at McDonald's UK (Corporate). As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in driving business transformation and delivering strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a deliverable, costed business plan that aligns with our corporate strategy
  • Define, implement, and run the project intake and prioritisation process, ensuring effective coaching of stakeholders
  • Maintain portfolio integrity by managing critical information for key forums, such as the Exec and Change Steering Group
  • Build and maintain relationships across the business and wider leadership team, managing trade-off/re-prioritisation conversations and 'return to green' discussions for inflight projects
  • Define and implement the process to support resource forecasting and eventually resource management across projects in the portfolio
  • Work with finance for effective investment governance for all projects in the portfolio
  • Report on the status of projects in the portfolio, with input from respective resources
  • Work with the Head of Project Delivery to educate Project Managers on the project management framework and their responsibilities
  • Provide assurance through ad-hoc project 'audits/health checks' and recommend corrective action as required
  • Collaborate with the Business Strategy and Insights Team to support the annual Phase Planning and Plan to Win process
  • Liaise with Technology to ensure the global tech roadmap is aligned with the market plan
  • Continuously seek to improve processes and outputs
  • Create a high-performing team, supporting individual development
  • Provide objectivity and friendly challenge to everything we do through a 'business change' lens
About You

We are looking for a senior change leadership expert with a proven track record in portfolio planning, project governance, and PMO experience. You will have a deep understanding of strategic and critical thinking skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities and task-switch frequently. You will be an effective communicator with a strong storytelling ability, and a highly collaborative workstyle with the ability to engage and mobilise teams around common goals.

You will have a can-do attitude, be outcome-focused, and act upon feedback and proactively work on your personal and professional development. You will also have expert skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS project, with experience using digital tools to manage projects, programmes, and portfolios.

Desirable requirements include knowledge of how a franchised business operates, experience of project financial management, experience of project benefits management, and experience of rolling out a resource management solution for a project portfolio.
