Key Responsibilities1. Information Security Management: Assist in the continued improvement and maintenance of the City of Bristol College's information security management system, which is accredited to the gold standard ISO27001 information security standard.
2. ISMS Implementation and Enforcement: Support the senior team with the implementation, enforcement, and management of the City of Bristol College's Information Security Management System (ISMS), which is compliant and certified to the recognised international standard ISO27001.
3. Day-to-Day Maintenance: Be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the ISO27001 certification, which will involve assisting with the development and maintenance of policies and guidelines, providing guidance and training to staff, scheduling and undertaking internal audits and spot checks, drafting information security reports, and supporting the annual management review of the ISMS.
4. Cybersecurity Threats: Keep yourself informed of any emerging cybersecurity or other threats to the City of Bristol College and escalate to senior staff in a timely manner.
5. Policy Development: Assist in the development and maintenance of policies and guidelines related to information security.
6. Staff Training: Provide guidance and training to staff on information security best practices.
7. Internal Audits: Schedule and undertake internal audits and spot checks to ensure compliance with the ISMS.
8. Reporting: Draft information security reports and present them to senior staff.
9. Annual Management Review: Support the senior team with the annual management review of the ISMS.
10. Continuing Assessment: Support the Senior Information Risk Owners (SIROs) with the annual continuing assessment and recertification audit, which takes place every three years.
Requirements1. Information Security Knowledge: Have a broad understanding of the theory and practice of information security and the law and accepted best practices, especially around the Data Protection Act.
2. Computer Literacy: Have high computer literacy skills.
3. Self-Motivation: Be self-motivated with the ability to work with limited supervision.
4. Policy Development: Be experienced in drafting policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures.
