Accounting and Financial Controller

Key Responsibilities
As a key member of the Graduate Hotels team, the Hotel Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of the hotel. This includes:
- Collaborating with the Financial Controller to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger accounting.
- Implementing and maintaining financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards.
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the hotel's management and ownership.
- Working closely with the Financial Controller and management team to prepare the annual budget and financial forecasts.
- Monitoring budget performance and providing regular updates to department heads and management.
- Maintaining internal control procedures to safeguard the hotel's assets and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
- Conducting regular financial audits to identify and rectify discrepancies or irregularities.
- Ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal tax regulations and coordinating with external auditors for tax filings.
- Reviewing invoices and contracts for accuracy and compliance with hotel policies.
- Supporting the Financial Controller in coordinating with external auditors to facilitate annual financial audits.
Requirements and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in hotel accounting, with a strong understanding of financial regulations and accounting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial management tools.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- A commitment to accuracy and attention to detail.
