Role Overview

As a Lead Mechanical Engineering Project Specialist, you will be instrumental in enhancing all capital expenditure processes and improving plant operations at our Colors Shotton facility. Reporting directly to the Projects Manager, you will oversee the Drawing Office Team and the Project Support Team. Your role will encompass the entire project lifecycle, from initial conception through to final execution and operation, ensuring compliance with Tata Engineering Standards, Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines, as well as relevant Codes of Practice.

The Lead Mechanical Engineering Project Specialist will guide a team of project engineers, design draftsmen, and contractors, prioritizing safe working practices while delivering engineering and technological support to plant engineers and manufacturing teams. Furthermore, you will keep abreast of the latest developments in engineering equipment and collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this position, the Lead Mechanical Engineering Project Specialist should possess a degree in a relevant field along with substantial experience in the steel or construction sectors. Familiarity with the planning and execution of capital projects and managing external contractors is highly advantageous. You should demonstrate strong budget management capabilities and a thorough understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental Management principles.

Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as strong problem-solving abilities, are essential. You should be adept at working collaboratively across all organizational levels and possess a solid understanding of risk management and construction regulations.
