Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Prison Offender Manager to join our team at HM Prison Leicester. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for leading the management and assessment of selected low to medium risk prisoners, preparing and implementing their sentence plans, and reviewing and evaluating their progress.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage low to medium risk prisoners, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their rehabilitation goals.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of prisoners' needs and risks, using the Offender Assessment System (OASys) to identify areas for intervention and support.
  • Develop and implement effective sentence plans, working closely with prisoners, probation officers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful rehabilitation and reintegration into the community.
  • Provide professional advice and assessment to criminal justice agencies and partner organizations, using your expertise to inform decision-making and support the rehabilitation of offenders.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and external agencies to share best practices, develop new initiatives, and improve outcomes for prisoners and the community.
Requirements
  • Proven experience of working with offenders, preferably in a prison or probation setting.
  • Strong understanding of risk management and assessment, including the use of OASys and other risk tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with prisoners, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meet the needs of the role.
  • Commitment to the principles of case management and the rehabilitation of offenders.
