Overview:
In the dynamic realm of digital innovation, we are seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Lead to spearhead our testing and quality assurance initiatives. This role involves guiding a team of functional, integration, system, and data Test Analysts within a designated Product area, ensuring that our offerings meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to third-party testers across various projects, ensuring successful product delivery.
  • Manage the creation and execution of comprehensive functional and non-functional test plans across multiple platforms.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to guarantee that offshore delivery teams are adequately staffed and functioning efficiently.
  • Regularly communicate with the QA Manager regarding overall team quality, test coverage, and process efficiency.
  • Ensure QA approval for all changes during the release cycle, maintaining efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Verify that test case design and documentation for core business applications align with business user story acceptance criteria, including both positive and negative scenarios.
  • Supervise the execution of test cases and the documentation of results across various browsers and devices, ensuring applications meet user requirements and adhere to IT governance standards.
  • Identify and document issues found during testing, collaborating closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, and Developers to resolve any application or process-related problems.
  • Conduct oversight reviews of test cases developed by other testers, ensuring proper storage and maintenance of test cases.
  • Engage in user story refinement and sprint planning sessions to facilitate the delivery of SMART stories for upcoming Sprints.
  • Ensure all necessary testing types are executed as required for each release cycle, including Acceptance, Functional, Regression, Non-Functional, Integration, and Data testing.
  • Assist in compiling data for building robust test environments, ensuring accuracy in integration data maps.
  • Propose innovative automation strategies to minimize manual effort and enhance code coverage across all testing levels.
  • Participate in the development and execution of automated test cases where applicable.
  • Continuously seek to improve testing and quality assurance processes through ongoing enhancements.
  • Collect metrics and KPIs to support continuous improvement within the team.
  • Perform additional tasks as necessary to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive test strategy for product areas, encompassing all individual projects and testing types.
  • Regularly assess regression test case coverage against both manual and automated testing approaches.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures to uphold the highest standards of health, safety, and well-being.
  • Complete a DBS check as part of our commitment to maintaining a safe environment for all.

Qualifications:
Essential:

  • Extensive testing experience, including leadership or senior testing roles.
  • Experience collaborating with offshore delivery teams.
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle and software testing lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • Proficiency with databases, particularly Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience in functional and non-functional testing of web-based and mobile applications.
  • Knowledge of agile defect and sprint management tools such as Jira, Zephyr, and Confluence.
  • Familiarity with automated testing tools like Selenium, Parasoft, and Postman.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong decision-making skills and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Desirable:
  • Experience testing on mobile platforms.
  • ISEB or ISTQB certification.
  • Intermediate level experience.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps.
  • Experience with automation tools such as IntelliJ, Selenium, Cucumber, and Postman.
  • Experience writing and executing automated tests at both API and UI levels.
  • Knowledge of deploying builds to development and testing environments.
  • Willingness to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • An interest in football.
