About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Protocol Education. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a dynamic and thriving school environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting Students with SEND: Provide individualized support to students with SEND, particularly those with SEMH needs, to ensure they receive the best possible education and care.
  • Implementing EHCPs: Assist in the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) to ensure students receive the necessary support and accommodations.
  • Fostering a Positive Learning Environment: Create a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere that promotes academic and personal growth for all students.
  • Developing Life Skills: Provide opportunities for students to develop life-long learning skills, independence, and a sense of belonging in society.
Requirements
  • Experience Working with SEND: Relevant experience working with students with SEND, SEMH, and associated difficulties is highly desirable.
  • Delivering Engaging Activities: Ability to deliver engaging activities to small groups of students, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Compassionate Approach: A compassionate and patient approach towards supporting students' individual needs, ensuring their well-being and safety.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and other professionals.
  • Relevant Qualifications: Relevant qualifications or training in supporting individuals with SEND is highly desirable.
  • Enhanced DBS: Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance is required for this role.
  • Safeguarding Knowledge: Experience, knowledge, and understanding of safeguarding processes, ensuring the safety and protection of all students.
  • Availability: Availability to work 5 days per week, term-time only, with a flexible approach to meeting the needs of the school and students.
