Your Role: As the Digital Content Manager, you will spearhead the digital strategy for The Scottish Sun, amplifying our online presence and ensuring our content engages a diverse and expanding audience. You will lead a dynamic team of digital content creators, developers, and analysts, collaborating with various departments to produce compelling and interactive content across all digital channels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage The Scottish Sun's website, social media platforms, and video content.
  • Edit articles to uphold the highest standards of presentation, focusing on headlines, imagery, and video to optimize traffic and engagement.
  • Collaborate with editorial teams in our integrated newsroom to generate fresh content, especially during significant live and breaking news events.
  • Oversee the online news operation, audience engagement teams, and audio/video production departments.
  • Work closely with internal teams, including commercial and marketing departments.
  • Analyze data to provide regular reports to colleagues and the broader business.
  • Foster strong relationships and seek collaborative opportunities with online, audience, sports, technology, and video teams across News Corp.

  • Proven digital experience in a fast-paced national news environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead high-performing teams.
  • Expertise in SEO, social media strategies, and digital news dissemination.
  • Experience in video production and knowledge of emerging digital platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and implement innovative strategies.
  • Awareness of current trends in the digital media landscape and audience behavior.
  • Proficient in developing commercially viable editorial projects and initiatives.
  • Understanding of The Scottish Sun's ethos and its application to digital platforms.
  • Familiarity with legal considerations, the Editors' Code of Practice, and IPSO standards.
