About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join our team at Uppingham School. As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our kitchen and restaurant areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the cleanliness of the dishwash and surrounding areas, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for our staff and customers.
  • Carry out all washing up duties for a busy kitchen and restaurant, including cleaning and sterilizing counter tops, walls, and sinks.
  • Assist with food preparation as required, working closely with our kitchen team to ensure seamless service.
  • Assist with daily and weekly deep cleans, helping to maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the kitchen and restaurant areas.
  • Remove waste from waste containers and dispose of them in the correct external bins.
  • Provide assistance to front of house and kitchen staff as required, ensuring excellent customer service and a smooth dining experience.

Requirements

  • Previous KP experience is desirable but not essential, as on-the-job training will be provided.
  • A passion for food and service, with a flexible approach to hours and duties.
  • Excellent team player with strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
