Job Description

**Job Title:** Sports Coach and Youth Development Specialist

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sports Coach and Youth Development Specialist to join our team at Empowr-U. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the activity levels of Empowr-U within Coventry, making our organization a place that young people are engaged with.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement programs to increase activity levels and engagement among young people in Coventry.
  • Collaborate with the Empowr-U team to develop and deliver high-quality programs that meet the needs of young people.
  • Recruit, train, and coordinate a team of volunteers to support the delivery of programs.
  • Ensure that Empowr-U values are applied to every session, every project, and everywhere that we operate.
  • Actively promote Empowr-U values among customers, partners, and communities that we work with.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with Empowr-U workforce, clients, and partners.
  • Lead in activity development, personal development, and character development of 8-25 year olds.
  • Undertake necessary training and CPD opportunities to improve the outcome and efficiency of resources.
  • Plan, promote, deliver, and evaluate Empowr-U activity sessions in Coventry and Warwickshire.
  • Support the management/development of all staff, apprentices, trainees, and volunteers.
  • Lead or assist with Empowr-U events and projects, dependent on the nature of the event.
  • Support the positive development and publicity of Empowr-U.
  • Agree to abide by a code of conduct and carry out duties in accordance with Empowr-U policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all activities are delivered to the very highest standards.
  • Follow excellent safeguarding practice at all times.

Requirements:

  • UK Driver's License and ability to drive a car within the role.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to engage challenging groups of children and young people.
  • Calm and professional in all situations.
  • Committed, determined, and resilient.
  • Active, energetic, and enthusiastic.
  • Caring, considerate, and respectful.
  • Skilled in working with people from various backgrounds.
  • Confident and competent in challenging circumstances.

  • Has a background in sport, art, and/or music.
  • Persuasive, a good communicator in various situations.
