Precision CNC Operator

At Ultra, we are eager to welcome a skilled individual to our Communications division in Tring. The ideal candidate will possess substantial CNC expertise and will be tasked with programming, setting up, and operating CNC lathes to manufacture precision components in accordance with engineering specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute machining strategies and action plans in collaboration with the Machine Shop Team Leader to align with the strategic objectives of the manufacturing facility.
- Produce components while collaborating with engineering teams to contribute to both new and existing product developments.
- Engage in a small, multi-disciplinary team, focusing on the operation and maintenance of CNC Mills and lathes.
- Occasionally operate Milling machines as necessary.
- Interpret engineering drawings to ascertain dimensions and tolerances of finished components.
- Sequence operations, tooling, programming, and setup requirements to optimize component manufacturing efficiency.
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance on non-conformance issues and propose corrective actions.
- Maintain traceability of raw materials delivered and utilized in Shop Orders.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and implement necessary changes for machining-related challenges.
- Collaborate with the Manufacturing team to ensure products meet established standards.
- Ensure production documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and legible.
- Safeguard information security as outlined in the Information Security Policy.
- Potential opportunity for offline programming using CAM software in the future.
- Proficient in CNC Lathe and Milling Machine Programming, Setting, and Operating.
- Knowledgeable about speeds and feeds for materials such as Aluminium and Stainless Steel.
- Familiarity with programming languages including FANUC, ProtoTRAK, and G-Code.
- Experience with Haas, XYZ, or Bridgeport machines.
- Manual Turning and Milling capabilities.
- Proficient in 3D Modelling software (Solidworks HSM, Fusion 360, or OneCNC).
- Basic experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain BPSS level security clearance.
