The Role: Residential Children's Services Deputy Manager
We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager to join our team in Pontefract. In this role, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the smooth running of the home and deliver high-quality care that meets the needs of each young person.
Key Responsibilities:- Service Delivery & Practice: Implement best practices in care, adhering to relevant legislation, regulations (including Ofsted SCCIF), and organizational policies. Ensure an inclusive environment that promotes equality and adheres to safeguarding protocols.
- Human Resources Management: Participate in the recruitment process, ensuring all necessary checks are completed for new employees.
- Resource Management: Support the Registered Manager in monitoring the service budget and financial transactions, ensuring financial targets are met.
- External Relations: Build positive relationships with external agencies, professionals, and the wider community as needed.
- A genuine passion for providing exceptional care and education to young people.
- Experience in managing a team effectively.
- Comprehensive knowledge of child protection and safeguarding procedures.
- Level qualification in Children's and Young People's Workforce or equivalent (minimum).
- Level qualification in Leadership and Management or willingness to obtain it.
- Familiarity with the needs of vulnerable individuals.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, young people, and external agencies.
- Demonstrated emotional resilience when working with challenging behaviors.
- Commitment to respecting appropriate boundaries and authority.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Understanding and commitment to equal opportunities.
- Current UK driving license or access to suitable transportation.
- Flexibility and reliability.
