Job Title: R&D Ingredient Specifications Lead

Job Purpose:
This role is responsible for supervising a team of specification writers to ensure legal compliance across Europe Foods technical data and systems. The successful candidate will contribute to a complex change programme, align and deliver a portfolio of assigned specifications, and facilitate the removal of roadblocks as required.

Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to a highly complex change programme while ensuring legal compliance across Europe Foods technical data and systems.
  • Scope, align, and deliver a portfolio of assigned specifications through individual contribution and delivery through others.
  • Ensure specification activities are progressing in line with business priorities and facilitate the removal of roadblocks as required.
  • Apply and ensure the team complies with regulatory and legal requirements through collaboration with regulatory teams.
  • Enable safe and compliant development through ensuring ingredient standard requirements are effectively deployed across Europe.
  • Ensure resourcing needs specific to ingredient activities are captured for all projects across Sector.
  • Work effectively within regional and global cross-functional teams, demonstrating strong functional expertise to overcome barriers and deliver initiatives with excellence.
  • Contribute to workstreams to improve ways of working across the team, improvement of business processes to drive greater efficiencies, sharing of knowledge to create better team cohesion, and developing others through coaching and embedding best practice.

Qualifications:
  • Graduate in Food, Science, or Engineering discipline or equivalent (Engineering for process roles) or equivalent in experience.
  • Solid FMCG background to support understanding of system requirements and change implications.
  • Ability to define and execute a programme of projects consistent with key business drivers.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence with integrity through persuasive communication to win support at senior levels within the organisation.
  • Proven programme management skills to effectively drive multiple projects.
  • Excellent people management skills to continue team members further upscaling and development.
  • Cross-departmental and functional leadership (technical and commercial) providing clarity on workstream objectives and deliverable coordination.
  • Management of full project life cycle from concept to industrial production, delivering through others to deliver technical components of cross-functional projects.
  • Experience of working across multiple markets and on global brands.
