PK Education is on the lookout for a dedicated and passionate Special Educational Needs Support Assistant to join our team in a nurturing environment focused on students with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD).
This role involves working with children aged 5-11 who face significant challenges in seeing, hearing, speaking, and mobility. Many of these students have complex health and social care requirements, necessitating the support of skilled caregivers in daily activities such as eating, personal hygiene, and mobility.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Special Educational Needs Support Assistant, you will:
- Assist in the educational and personal development of students with PMLD.
- Collaborate effectively with teachers and other staff to create a supportive learning environment.
- Build meaningful relationships with students to understand their individual needs and behaviors.
- Provide personal care and support as required.
- Engage in moving and handling tasks, as necessary.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A relevant qualification in teaching assistance (level 1, 2, or 3) or health and social care.
- Experience working with children with complex needs in educational or care settings within the last two years.
- A genuine passion for supporting the growth and learning of students with Social and Emotional Mental Health challenges.
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a professional team.
- A willingness to engage in personal care tasks.
