Position Overview
Band 7 Advanced Emergency Care Practitioner
The Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) is in search of a dedicated Advanced Emergency Care Practitioner to become a vital part of our collaborative and skilled multi-disciplinary team.
This exceptional UTC facility provides top-notch medical services to a rural demographic of around 141,000 individuals across an expansive area of 1,000 square miles. We are recognized for our commitment to delivering superior healthcare.
The UTC team comprises General Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners, paramedic practitioners, Healthcare Assistants, and administrative staff. Our focus is on working in unison with primary care to minimize unnecessary visits to the Emergency Department.
We maintain strong connections with various specialties, including the Hospital at Home Team, Urgent Care Response Team, Mental Health Services, and Paediatrics. Our care extends to patients of all ages, addressing both minor ailments and injuries.
We offer Continuous Professional Development (CPD) through a monthly educational program and provide support for trainee Nurse Practitioners to complete their training and professional portfolios.
Additionally, we collaborate with educational institutions to support student nurses and paramedics.
Note: If you currently lack Non-Medical Prescribing qualifications for a Band 7 position, we welcome your application, as we are open to considering training opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver exemplary clinical care to patients, utilizing advanced expertise and skills to foster and promote evidence-based practices while managing a department with variable workloads.
Employ clinical judgment and decision-making to conduct patient histories and assessments within the UTC, formulating diagnoses, treatment plans, and managing patient referrals and discharges.
Exhibit proficiency in practice while adapting to and navigating challenging situations.

Qualifications & Training
Essential Requirements
- Registered nurse or paramedic with the NMC/HCPC
- Degree in a relevant field and specialist training equivalent to Master’s Level
- Recognized Teaching qualification
- Physical Assessment Skills module at level 7 or higher in both Adult and Paediatric care
- Non-Medical Prescribing certification
