Our client, a prominent provider in the Water and Wastewater Infrastructure sectors, is in search of a talented and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineering Project Leader to enhance their innovative team.
This position is vital for achieving excellence in managing projects related to mechanical engineering within the water and wastewater sectors.
Role Overview:
As a Senior Mechanical Engineering Project Leader, you will play a key role in directing and coordinating mechanical engineering initiatives within a multidisciplinary team on a significant water infrastructure framework.
This extensive programme encompasses a variety of design and construction projects ranging from £100k to £4m, including the installation and replacement of mechanical systems, pumping stations, treatment facilities, and related civil engineering tasks.
Main Responsibilities:
- Oversee all facets of mechanical engineering projects within the capital delivery programme.
- Coordinate project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure timely and successful project completion.
- Develop and uphold project timelines, budgets, and risk assessments.
- Supervise the creation of mechanical designs, specifications, and documentation.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards, regulations, and quality protocols.
- Participate in internal and external project review and progress meetings.
- Generate project reports and feasibility studies.
- Provide mentorship and technical support to junior team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering / HND / HNC or equivalent in a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in project management within the water/wastewater sector (preferred).
- Familiarity with mechanical systems in water treatment and distribution (preferred).
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with clients and key stakeholders.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Professional project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is advantageous.
