Job Title: Director of Operations

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Director of Operations to join our team at Liverpool Women's NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction and operational management to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to our patients.

About the Role

The Director of Operations will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of operational strategies to improve service delivery, patient experience, and staff engagement. You will work closely with our clinical leads, support teams, and external partners to ensure seamless service delivery and effective communication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to improve service delivery, patient experience, and staff engagement.
  • Lead the development and implementation of business cases to improve cost, service delivery, and patient experience.
  • Collaborate with clinical leads and support teams to ensure effective communication and service delivery.
  • Monitor and analyze performance data to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners to ensure effective service delivery and communication.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and resources to deliver high-quality services.
  • Ensure compliance with local and national performance and quality targets.
Requirements
  • Experience of management of clinical services and working with medical staff.
  • Contributing to improvements in service standard and patient experience.
  • Monitoring compliance with local and national performance and quality targets.
  • Experience of developing innovative and lasting solutions to operational and performance issues.
  • Experience of budget and human resources management.
  • Experience of managing administrative and support staff.
  • Experience of finance and cost improvement programmes.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Up-to-date knowledge of speciality service areas, including current issues in service delivery and patient pathways.
  • Understanding of current issues in health service management, including business planning processes.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to clinical staff, patients, and carers, and work colleagues.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex and varied information and develop action plans.
  • Ability to motivate staff and demonstrate effective and positive leadership.
Qualifications
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
  • Educated to masters level in a relevant subject or equivalent experience.
  • Recognized leadership and/or management qualification.
