Senior Control Systems Engineer

CV Library is seeking a highly skilled Senior Control Systems Engineer to join their team in the West Midlands.

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented engineer to work on complex special purpose machines and contribute to the growth of a world-leading manufacturer.

The Role:
  1. Collaborate with Controls Engineers, Applications Engineers, and Mechanical Engineers to design and develop machine control systems.
  2. Design, develop, and review system software, including machine start-up and debug.
  3. Integrate and validate new product designs.
  4. Support software QA and interface with hardware design and development.
  5. Develop technical and electrical controls systems requirements.
  6. Develop machine sequence and control flow charts.
  7. Develop Human Machine Interface programs for machine control.
  8. Develop design documentation, including theory of operation, help files, and machine set-up and operation instructions.
  9. Provide technical support to Service Technicians and customers.
  10. Participate in efforts to improve Controls applications and maintain programming standards.
Requirements:
  1. Proficiently utilize programming methods, including Ladder Logic and ST/SCL.
  2. Integrate safety control systems and methods using Siemens and Allen Bradley technologies.
  3. Create, read, and edit electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control station layouts, and electrical enclosure panel layouts.
  4. Strong communication skills and ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  5. Self-starter with attention to detail and results-driven approach.
  6. Computer literate with experience in ACAD, MS Office, CRM, email, and internet/intranet.
