About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Healthcare Assistant to join our Haematology Day Unit team at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our patients who attend for assessment, treatment, and follow-up appointments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with our registered nursing and medical team to deliver excellent clinical care to patients with haematological conditions.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior staff members within the team, promoting a culture of teamwork and continuous learning.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of patient care plans, ensuring that individual needs are met and exceeded.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and contributing to the development of solutions.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
Requirements
  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience in healthcare.
  • Proven experience working in an acute setting, with a strong understanding of complex care within a day unit setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Phlebotomy skills and experience, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
