About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer to establish and grow a new regional office in Plymouth. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the development of electrical systems for buildings and driving business growth in the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with clients from multiple projects at various stages, providing expert advice and guidance on electrical system design.
  • Supervise the production of drawings in 2D and 3D design using AutoCAD/Revit, ensuring high-quality output and meeting project deadlines.
  • Collaborate with design teams and clients during the design phase of projects, ensuring effective communication and project delivery.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Manage financial aspects of projects, including budgeting and cost control.
  • Monitor progress and take a leading role in contact between clients and teams, ensuring client satisfaction and project success.
  • Manage a team of engineers and technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure project delivery.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, working closely with the sales team to win new projects.
Requirements
  • Chartered engineer status or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10+ years' experience in designing electrical systems for buildings.
  • Relevant degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong client skills and ability to communicate complex technical information effectively.
  • Experience of managing projects and teams, with a track record of delivering results.
  • Proficiency in software such as Amtech, AutoCAD, Revit, IES or Dialux.
  • Interest in responding to the climate emergency and contributing to sustainable building design.
