Job Summary

Lids is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Store Manager to lead our retail team and drive sales growth. As a Store Manager, you will be responsible for fostering a passion for sporting and fashion goods among our customers, providing exceptional customer service, and guiding our retail teams to achieve operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Control expenses and protect company assets within LIDS Retail policies.
  • Prepare store schedules and ensure proper store coverage at all times, adhering to wage control guidelines.
  • Manage store inventory, including receiving, transferring, and conducting product counts, following all policies and procedures.
  • Perform accurate documentation and record keeping, complying with state and federal laws.
  • Open and close the store as required, following procedures outlined in the Operations P&P Manual.

Additional Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and develop store associates through thorough use of LIDS Training Programs, goal setting, and regular follow-up.
  • Recruit, train, and retain store personnel to achieve operational objectives and adhere to company policies and guidelines.
  • Administer progressive discipline, including verbal and written warnings, and carry out employment terminations with approval from the District Sales Manager and Human Resources.
  • Encourage direct compliance with company policies, procedures, and guidelines, including safekeeping of company inventory, funds, and property.
  • Perform work of subordinates as needed and communicate with employees at all levels of the company.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • A two-year post-secondary education and one year of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Established ability to produce sales results while minimizing loss.
  • Proven supervisory skills, with capacity to deliver training material and assess retention.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate verbally in a clear and professional manner.
  • Ability to operate a computer and maneuver relative software programs.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and climb a ladder, with standing required for up to 100% of work time.
  • Ability and willingness to travel overnight for training and/or business meetings.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills

Store managers can earn up to 2 times the local minimum wage based on experience. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. FT Managers are also eligible for monthly store sales bonuses and a 40% employee discount. Full-time employees are eligible for a full range of benefits, including Paid Time Off, health, vision, dental, and 401(k).
