About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Children's Therapist/Counselor to join our team at WhereToTalk. As a therapist-founded and therapist-led service, we are dedicated to improving the lives of others and challenging the status quo in mental health.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality in-person short and long-term interventions for children and adults.
  • Participate in regular supervision and internal group supervision to ensure the highest standards of care.
  • Liaise with other professionals to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our clients.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our service and safeguarding high standards of care.

Person Specification

  • Registration with the appropriate regulatory/governing body (HCPC, BACP, etc.).
  • Ability to challenge outdated approaches to therapy while upholding the highest clinical standards.
  • Flexibility and versatility in your approach to therapy.
  • Current Enhanced Children and Adult DBS Clearance (or willingness to undergo this).
  • A desire to shift the culture around mental health and be part of a pioneering service.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Specialist training in CBT (IAPT) and treatment of OCD.
  • Confidence in representing WhereToTalk in various areas of its work (writing, presenting, and delivering workshops, groups, and talks).
  • A deep understanding of our brand, mental maintenance, and preventative approaches to mental health.
  • Psychosexual training and experience.
