About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our team at William Perkin Church of England High School. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Education Needs (SEN) in Years 7-11.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with SEN, focusing on their academic and personal development.
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons, ensuring a tailored approach to meet the needs of students with SEN.
  • Develop and maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment, promoting social and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate with teachers, teaching assistants, and other support staff to ensure seamless support for students with SEN.
  • Participate in on-the-job training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Recent experience working with secondary-age children.
  • Able to demonstrate a sensible attitude, flexibility, and a commitment to the school's ethos.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meet the needs of the school.
