Job Summary:
Simpson Booth Limited is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Workshop Operations Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for assisting our Mechanical Technicians with various day-to-day activities in the workshop.
Main Responsibilities:
- Perform inspection and testing activities on rental fleet hydraulic equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Complete required documentation and report all defects/requirements to the Supervisor (or designate) in a timely manner.
- Carry out buffing/shot blasting, cleaning, and painting activities on rental and customer-owned equipment to ensure it is in 'as new' condition prior to dispatch.
- Assist Workshop Technicians in the completion of operational tasks as required.
- Participate in general day-to-day workshop and yard housekeeping activities to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
- Carry out any other related or associated roles, tasks, or duties that they can be trained, instructed, and supervised to do safely and according to changing business requirements.
- Observe and adhere to company policies and procedures relating to work, administration, HSSEQ, and ESG.
Requirements:
- Basic understanding of mechanical and/or hydraulic equipment is desirable.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well both independently and within a team.
- Familiar with safety procedures and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Full UK driver's license.
- National 5 Pass in English & Maths (or equivalent).
- B2 FLT & Overhead crane certification is desirable.
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- A proactive self-starter with a good working attitude, reliable, and punctual.
- Strong attention to detail, works to high standards.
