Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct market analysis and provide strategic recommendations to the factory
  • Develop and implement seasonal and promotional strategies
  • Collaborate with factories and design teams to create new product ideas
  • Organize factory calls and tours to identify opportunities for growth
  • Benchmark products and services to ensure competitiveness
  • Compile cost information, including prices, MOQs, and lead times
  • Work closely with factories and category assistants to develop products
  • Cross-cost products to ensure profitability
  • Provide support and assistance with factory issues

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in product development, preferably in a retailer or importer environment
  • Strong understanding of market trends and competitors
  • Ability to create compelling PowerPoint presentations
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with factories
  • Keen eye for product and design
  • Strong understanding of pricing and costings
  • Technical knowledge of product development, including QA and quality control
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet software, including formulas and v-lookups
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Effective communication skills to share vital information with stakeholders
  • Experience with textiles preferred
