Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist Associate to join our team at the Department of Work & Pensions. As a Data Scientist Associate, you will play a key role in developing innovative data-driven solutions to complex problems.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong academic background in Data Science, Maths, Statistics, or Computer Science, and hands-on experience using data science to solve problems or improve established processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply data science techniques to identify, analyze, and create solutions for complex problems
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and deliver new features for the Universal Credit digital service
  • Use advanced analytics, machine learning, and data visualization to drive business outcomes
  • Communicate results to a range of audiences, translating technical concepts into non-technical language where necessary
  • Work with stakeholders to understand their requirements and deliver complex analytical projects in a timely manner

Requirements

  • Understanding of a range of data science techniques and the ability to apply these to practical situations
