Job Summary

Orka Financial is seeking a highly experienced Financial Controller to join our team and contribute to the company's growth and success. As a key member of the Senior Leadership team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the finance function and driving business performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage all financial activities within the UK and Europe regions, ensuring compliance with local accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, providing insightful commentary on financial performance, variances, and trends.
  • Develop and implement effective treasury and working capital management strategies to ensure the availability of funds for operational requirements and investments.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with departmental heads to establish financial goals and targets.
  • Develop accurate and reliable forecasts to support business planning and decision-making.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring the company's financial stability and growth.
  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements.
  • Oversee tax planning and compliance activities, including VAT, corporate income tax, and other relevant taxes.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations affecting the Europe and UK regions.
  • Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, training, and support.
Requirements
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
  • 5 years of experience in finance and accounting roles, with a minimum of 2 years in a managerial or supervisory position.
  • Extensive knowledge of European and UK accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Knowledge of group accounting.
  • Proven experience in managing cross-border financial operations and multi-currency environments.
  • Strong proficiency in financial software and systems (e.g., Sage ERP, Excel, financial modelling tools).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
