Team Jobs - Strategic Accounts is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to collaborate with our esteemed client.

This role presents an excellent opportunity for a proactive engineer with a background in the aerospace sector.

Your responsibilities will include the design, development, and testing of various mechanical components, systems, and machinery.

A solid understanding of engineering principles is essential for designing products such as engines, instruments, controls, robots, and machinery. Familiarity with widely accepted concepts, practices, and procedures in the field is required, along with the ability to work under guidance to fulfill job functions.

Standard working hours are Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, with potential flexibility to condense hours into a four-day workweek.

Compensation is hourly, commensurate with experience.

Our client can provide up to one month of accommodation support, if necessary, at a rate of up to 400 per week.

Key Responsibilities:

Addressing REACH obsolescence within our existing product line, identifying issues, and exploring suitable alternatives based on product specifications. Supporting the development of design concepts, including analytical support, while maintaining an awareness of manufacturing methodologies and cost considerations. Conducting detailed design work and processing engineering changes. Overseeing all drawings and related project documentation. Engaging in complex aerospace engineering projects across diverse areas.

Essential Skills:

- Strong attention to detail in reviewing existing drawings for REACH obsolescence and generating investigation reports.

- Ability to produce comprehensive designs and layouts that meet customer specifications.

- Responsible for the completion and verification of drawing packs and supporting documentation.

- Commitment to delivering on project timelines and achieving milestones while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team environment.

- Flexibility to adapt to varying work environments and extend beyond comfort zones.

- Experience in small component design, design for manufacturability principles, and fine tolerance components is advantageous.

Candidates must possess the right to live and work in the UK and successfully pass all necessary background and security checks.
