Position: Food Technology Educator

Location: Rubery, Birmingham

Salary Range: £150 - £220

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Teaching Personnel is collaborating with a nationwide Special Educational Needs Trust to find a qualified Food Technology Educator for a secondary school setting in the Rubery area. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching Food Technology up to GCSE level and will engage with students of various ages. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are welcome to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the delivery and enhancement of the curriculum, considering the educational, physical, and social needs of students within a supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Utilize short, medium, and long-term planning to deliver the curriculum successfully.
  • Establish, monitor, and review personalized learning targets to maximize individual student achievement.
  • Assess, review, and report on student progress to parents, team members, senior staff, and relevant bodies, adhering to school policies and procedures.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development through training and research to maintain and enhance subject knowledge.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Possession of a PGCE, QTS, or equivalent teaching qualification, along with evidence of relevant in-service training.
  • Capability to teach Food Technology from Entry Level 2 to GCSE.
  • Experience and understanding of working with students with ASD, SEMH, and PDA profiles.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding principles and child protection protocols.
  • Proven ability to manage diverse behavioral approaches, including those that may be challenging.

All quoted pay rates include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This position is temporary, with the potential for permanent placement in the future.
