Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced SEN Support Assistant to join our team at a secondary school in Watford. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to students with special educational needs, assisting them in accessing the curriculum and promoting inclusion in mainstream classes.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assist students with SEN in accessing the curriculum, both in class and through one-to-one or small group interventions
* Adapt teaching materials and resources to meet the specific learning needs of individual students, as directed by the SENCO or class teacher
* Help integrate students with SEN into mainstream classes, ensuring they feel included and able to participate
* Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to the SENCO and teaching staff
* Manage behaviour and support students in managing their behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy
* Foster independence in students with SEN by encouraging them to take responsibility for their own learning and behaviour
* Provide pastoral care and emotional support to students who may struggle with confidence, self-esteem, or social interaction
* Collaborate with the SENCO, teachers, and other LSAs to share information and strategies to support SEN students effectively

Requirements:

* Experience as an LSA or similar role with a UK secondary school
* Experience working within an SEN department is desirable
* Enhanced DBS clearance
