About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Technician to join our team at Network Rail. As a Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining the rail network, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of passengers and freight.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions, often in challenging terrain, to maintain and repair Overhead Line Equipment.
  • Collaborate with the team to deliver work safely and efficiently, adhering to strict safety standards.
  • Lead the team when required, using your leadership skills to motivate and direct colleagues.
  • Develop and maintain technical skills, staying up-to-date with new standards, procedures, and instructions.
  • Contribute to a positive and respectful team culture, promoting safe working behaviors and challenging potential risks to safety.
Requirements
  • Leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear instructions to the team and other colleagues.
  • Technical skills, with knowledge and experience of inspection, faulting, maintenance, and renewal techniques in Overhead Line Equipment.
  • Safety-focused, with a commitment to safe working behaviors and the ability to challenge potential risks to safety.
  • Problem-solving skills, with the ability to find safe and effective solutions.
  • Willingness to learn and develop technical skills, with a commitment to continuous learning.
  • Relevant qualification, such as an NVQ Level 1 or 2 linked to the discipline.
