Facilities Engineer

Workshop Recruitment is currently in search of a Facilities Engineer to enhance our operational capabilities. This role is essential for the management and maintenance of our mechanical and electrical infrastructure within our production environment.
Key Responsibilities- Maintenance Oversight: Supervise the upkeep of all mechanical and electrical systems to ensure they operate efficiently and safely.
- Program Development: Create and implement a comprehensive maintenance strategy focusing on preventive measures and lifecycle management.
- System Inspections: Conduct regular and thorough evaluations of all systems, documenting findings and necessary actions to maintain optimal performance.
- Performance Optimization: Enhance building management systems (BMS), environmental management systems (EMS), and lighting management systems (LMS) for peak operational efficiency.
- Compliance Assurance: Ensure all facility operations adhere to legal, regulatory, and safety standards.
- Equipment Maintenance: Troubleshoot and repair all site electrical and mechanical equipment to minimize downtime and prolong equipment lifespan.
- Project Collaboration: Work on initiatives related to the refurbishment and upgrades of facility and production areas to improve system reliability.
- Quality Control: Assess the quality of maintenance work performed by external contractors to uphold high standards.
- Emergency Response: Maintain strict safety protocols and ensure a prompt response to any emergencies involving facility systems.
- Technical Support: Provide ongoing technical guidance to enhance the performance of all mechanical and electrical installations.
- Team Support: Assist Maintenance Engineers during production breakdowns and various projects.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A proven history of maintaining electrical and mechanical systems in a manufacturing or similar industrial environment.
- A Level 3 NVQ or higher in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Experience in managing maintenance contracts and ensuring adherence to legal and safety regulations.
- A comprehensive understanding of industry-specific safety standards and proactive maintenance practices.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with proficiency in IT tools for maintenance management and reporting.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities, capable of managing multiple maintenance tasks concurrently.
- Experience in injection molding is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Robust skills in electrical troubleshooting and installation.
