About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Actuarial Manager to join our Insurance Group in London. As a key member of our team, you will provide expert guidance on a wide range of Life Actuarial issues, including assurance services, external and internal audit, corporate governance and risk advisory, regulatory advisory including section 166 skilled person reviews, portfolio transfers, actuarial loss-reserving and pricing, taxation, solvency and regulatory compliance, management information systems, litigation support and forensic accounting.

This is a client-facing role, requiring strong commercial and client-centric skills. You will work closely with senior managers, directors, and BDO's partners to deliver high-quality advice to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert guidance on Life Actuarial issues, including assurance services, external and internal audit, corporate governance and risk advisory, regulatory advisory, and more.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored advice.
  • Lead and manage a team of actuaries, providing guidance and oversight on their work.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and regulatory changes, ensuring our advice is always current and relevant.
  • Collaborate with other teams within BDO to deliver a comprehensive range of services to our clients.
Requirements
  • Significant insurance actuarial experience and a qualified Life insurance actuary.
  • Strong technical actuarial knowledge and a high standard of IT literacy, including MS Excel and a willingness to learn additional applications.
  • Influencing skills, both internally and externally.
  • Experience with delegation and overseeing/reviewing the work of student actuaries.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and presentation skills.
