Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant

New Directions Holding is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support children with Autism (ASD) and Complex Learning Difficulties (CLD) in a 'Good' rated SEND school located in Crosby.

This long-term role requires a skilled individual to work closely with students, creating a positive and nurturing environment that helps them navigate their unique challenges and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build strong relationships with students and staff.
  • Encourage and support students in their learning and development.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students.
  • Practice De-escalation and calming techniques to manage challenging behaviors.
  • Maintain an empathetic approach and understanding of behaviors stemming from other problems.

Applicants from care, sports, psychology, criminology, sociology, and youth work backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Requirements:
  • Experience working with children or adults with additional needs.
  • Able to support students of all abilities.
  • Positive and ambitious attitude to learning.
